Day One: ANGLING TRUST RIVERFEST
What a match! A few snaps from the first leg of the Angling Trust RiverFest, fished today on the Ashfield Angling Club stretches of the River Trent at Burton Joyce.
Paul Canon leads the way with 44lb - but with a stack of other good weights, and a rising river, everything is to play for tomorrow!

BIG BREAM WEIGHT TOPS BRILLIANT TRENT QUALIFIER!
The River Trent at Burton Joyce saw almost 20lb needed for a top 20 place and 35 double figure weights in this 80 peg qualifier.
Four anglers went through to the final which will be held on the same stretch that many now regard as the new ‘Wembley of match fishing’ on October 3rd and 4th.
Leading the way was Jason Owen who landed 14 bream on open end feeder tactics at the top end of the Nelson Field for a brilliant 67-6-0 victory.
In second place, with a mainly dace catch of 28-12-0, also taken on feeder tactics from half way down the Nelson Field was match organiser Alan Henry.
Third place on the day went to Sean Ashby with 22-9-0 from the middle of the Ferry Field.
Qualifiers were Sean Ashby, Charlie Gooch with 18-0-0, which was top on the Road stretch, Jason Owen and Clive Fletcher, who won the Rack Zone with 20-3-0.
Big thanks go to the Ashfield Anglers club for the use of the water. Also to the members of the club who kindly turned up to help on the organisational side of the competition.
The event ran like clockwork thanks to the hard work of co-organisers Alan Henry and Wayne Swinscoe.
